St. Thomas' COVID-19 Response
Dear Members and Friends of St. Thomas',
St. Thomas’ and the Diocese of Virginia are responding to help stem the tide of coronavirus by practicing social distancing as recommended by the CDC. Our office staff are currently working remotely. Below is more information about our operations:
Most in-person worship and events are cancelled until further notice.
Worship is available online through Zoom and YouTube. Please fill out the form at the bottom of the page to sign up for our weekly E-communique for more information and links.
The Food Pantry is open in a modified capacity on Thursdays from 2:30 - 5:00 pm. We are handing out pre-packed bags to our clients through a walk-up station in front of the church and/or a drive-through.
The St. Thomas’ Day School is currently closed with plans to reopen in the fall. Please visit the Day School page to learn more.
Groups hosted by St. Thomas’ are not meeting, please contact your group leader individually to confirm.
There are many ways to stay engaged with St. Thomas’. We have a presence online on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and regularly update our website. You can stay up to date with news, pictures, virtual fellowship, and more. You can also give online. Financial gifts to the church enable St. Thomas' to continue offering our services and ministries to God and the community in this unique time. There are several ways to give:
Online - Click here for information about giving online.
Bank Transfer - Set up a weekly transfer with your bank to St. Thomas'.
Mail - Mail your offering to the church at 3602 Hawthorne Ave., Richmond, VA 23222
We are living in a time of uncertainty and stress, and it is perfectly natural for us to feel the anxiety prevalent today. But we are also finding ways to be the community of love and support that we are called to be. Pray for each other, reach out if you need help; call us. Know that your church staff is praying for you on a daily basis; pray for us as well. Join us in the offerings we have, such as the YouTube videos and Zoom calls. We are with you, and God is with us all. May God’s peace be with you.
Since 1907 St. Thomas' has been a home for worship, service, and fellowship in Richmond. We are a place of simple hospitality, and seek to share our communal life with our church, our community, and those in need.
Everyone is welcome.
Quick Links & News
Our stewardship theme this year is One Together, reminding us of the promise of our Baptismal Covenant:
There is one Body and one Spirit;
There is one hope in God’s call to us;
One Lord, one Faith, one Baptism;
One God and Father of all.
Throughout this year’s annual giving campaign, we’re premiering a video every day from another one your fellow parishioners, sharing a story or a memory or a reflection about what drew them to St. Thomas’, and what keeps them coming back. We hope you will see some old friends and make some new ones so that we are still One Together until we, once again, can gather together in person. Check out the videos on our Testimonial Playlist by clicking here. For more information on our giving campaign, click here.
Shrine Mont is Open
While we're not able to have our normal Shrine Mont retreat, some of us will be on the mountain the weekend of October 2-4. Even though we won’t be able to have anything like the retreat we normally offer, Shrine Mont is still open and they are doing a fantastic job with keeping safety first. I hope you'll consider joining with us for some fresh mountain air. Please contact Shrine Mont at (540) 856-2141 if you want to make a reservation, and let them know that you're from St. Thomas.
Monday Zoom Office Hour
Herbert holds a weekly Zoom Office Hour on Mondays from 11 AM- 12 PM. You're invited to check in with him about anything - pastoral concerns, thoughts, suggestions or anything on your mind! Sign up for our weekly E-communique for the link. All are welcome.
