About the event

Join museum docent (& Episcopalian!) Douglas D'Urso for a guided, intentional look at two pieces of art with Christian themes. The docent will discuss the following works: The Assumption of the Virgin with St. Thomas and Two Donors, by Andrea Di Bartolo, circa 1390s, and The Virgin and Child with Young Saint John the Baptist, by Francesco D'ubertini Verdi, circa 1540s.

Meet up will be at 1 pm in VMFA lobby.  Turn right at the customer service desk and gather in front of the sculpture titled "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos."  The docent presentation will last 45 minutes to an hour. Gallery stools will be available to those who need them.  Afterwards, we'll gather for some fellowship in the cafe. See you there!
