St. Thomas' Food Pantry is open every Thursday from 2:30 - 5:00 pm.
  The mission of the St. Thomas' Food Pantry is to address hunger, loneliness and neglect in our city by providing our neighbors with nutritious food,  positive social interaction,s and educational info focusing on healthy lifestyles.

This line can be reached at any time and lists our hours, directions, requirements, weather advisories, or allows you to leave a message. Our Food Pantry is designed for those living in Richmond.  A valid form of ID is helpful. Our Food Pantry is one of three churches that are part of the Northside RVA Food Pantry Partnership. Food Pantry Guests are allowed to visit one of the partnership locations once each month.

Volunteer Opportunities

St. Thomas welcomes volunteer help throughout each week. Individual opportunities and group opportunities are available.

Our Needs:

Picking up donated food at Food Lion -  Volunteers will pick-up food, document the weight and put away the items in our storage rooms. Looking for someone for an hour on one or multiple days.

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Saturdays at Food Lion, Azalea Brook Hill, 11:00 or 11:30 am. Takes about one hour.


Warehouse Shopping at FeedMore - Volunteers will select inventory for weekly distribution from available commodities at FeedMore. This opportunity is physically challenging so volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds. 

  • Tuesdays (every other)  - 9:30 AM at FeedMore, then St. Thomas' afterwards

  • Wednesdays (every other) - 9:00 AM at FeedMore, then St. Thomas' afterwards


Inventory Management at St. Thomas'

  • Wednesdays - At your leisure, shelf stocking in Room 102


Food Pantry at St. Thomas'

  • Thursdays

    • 12:30 - 2:00 pm Set up chairs, tables, stock shelves, manage inventory

    • 2:15 pm - Volunteer Meeting

    • 2:30 - 5:00 pm - Food Pantry Distribution - Shoppers are needed to assist guests while the Food Pantry is open; Inventory volunteers stock shelves and distribute items

    • 5:00 - 6:00 pm  -  Food Pantry Closes, Break Down (many shoppers stay for this)
