Burying of the Alleluias
Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 pm on Zoom

As many of you know, we would normally be eating pancakes at church together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, and mark the beginning of Lent. Also, we would bury the Alleluias together to remind ourselves that we don't say alleluia during Lent. Since we can't be together to do those things this year, we encourage all of you to have pancakes for dinner at home, then join Herbert and Katie on Zoom at 6:30 for a quick blessing. Once the alleluias are blessed, you can 'bury' (hide) them somewhere in your homes until Easter! Come as you are, PJs are welcome and encouraged! Check your Ecommunique for the Zoom link.

Wednesday, February 17th at 7:00 pm on YouTube

Join us Wednesday night, February 17 at 7:00 for a special Ash Wednesday Offering. Events prevent us from gathering in community for the imposition of ashes. Even so, we are called to be together in this sacred time of Lent. We'll begin our Lenten journey with a service on Wednesday night via YouTube. On subsequent Wednesdays we will gather via Zoom with Katie and Herbert for a brief time of fellowship followed by Compline. We're looking forward to seeing you! Click here for the bulletin and the link below for worship.

Every Wednesday during Lent at 7:00 pm over Zoom

Join Herbert and Katie Wednesday nights during Lent at 7 pm to discuss 'Give up a Word', a Lent devotion from the Society of St. John the Evangelist (SSJE). Based on the SSJE devotional 'Brother, Give us a Word', this practice encourages participants to think of one word a week that their life would be better without, and give it up for that week during Lent. Each Wednesday, we'll meet on Zoom and share how our week was different without that word, concluding with a brief servie of Compline. Our first meeting is February 24th, so start planning which word you'll be giving up! Link to the site is below with tips on how to choose your word, and other helpful info. Contact Katie Cosby with any questions, and we'll see you on Zoom! Sign up for our weekly Ecommunique for each week's meeting link.
