St. Thomas' will be hosting CARITAS guests from September 14-21.

See how you can help!

CARITAS helps break the cycle of homelessness in Richmond through innovative programs that fill gaps in our service system and move individuals from crisis situations to stability.

St. Thomas is hosting CARITAS Women from Saturday, September 14 through Saturday, September 21. CARITAS generally shelters up to 32 individuals during the week. There is a job for everyone! We need all gifts and talents to help provide our guests’ basic needs and to make them feel welcome.

We are asking for help with meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner crews), Site Managers to greet guests on arrival from 5:30 PM-9:00 PM, Overnight Hosts from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM the next morning, set up and Breakdown Crews, Shower Drivers to the Northside YMCA, Laundry Volunteers, and Activities Volunteers to help with entertainment in the evening. We will be asking other churches in our area to help with meals and other volunteer efforts as well.

Please contact our Key Volunteer: Sarah Sherman, 804-240-8252, and Vestry Outreach Liaison, Margaret Woody, 804-836-6166 for more information how you can help! Look for a sign up in the Fellowship Hall soon. Check email for an invitation to volunteer on Sign Up Genius or click here to visit the sign up page directly.
