Adult Formation

Winter & Spring 2020

Sundays at 9:30 am

We will begin and cover from now until Advent, with a break or two in between, an educational series that deals with the topic of racial reconciliation in America.  This series has been developed by the Episcopal Church and we are offering what we can of it to you.  Join us as you can.  As with anything, you will get out of it what you put in to it.  There is more material offered than what we can cover, but we will do our best to expose you to the material that may be beneficial to you.  We look forward to learning and growing together this fall.

You may want to purchase and read the following books:

Waking Up White by Debby Irving, and Jesus and the Disinherited by Dr. Howard Thurman. These were selected because of the powerful ways in which they speak to mindsets of privilege, on the one hand, and to mindsets that can result from being the target of oppression such as racism.
