Lauren Stanley returns to Haiti
Dear Friends:
Today, I have come home to a miracle. Bishop's driver picked me up and brought me straight to St. James the Just in Petion Ville, where you see damage in one spot and absolutely no damage in others.
Fear Itself: Sermon for Lent 2 by Susan Daughtry
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the
city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often
have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood
under her wings, and you were not willing! See, your house is left to you!" -Jesus, Luke 13
What a Wednesday!
The Lenten Program is off to a strong start. It was a special night with a crowded chancel for Holy Eucharist and the Laying on of Hands. The service was a quiet coming together at the end of a busy day and prepared us to be together for the splendid and diverse offerings for the pot-luck supper.
What a Weekend!
St. Thomas' Annual Auction, postponed because of snow, was a resounding success last Saturday night with more than 259 tickets sold - a record.
Members, friends of St. Thomas' and neighbors congregated to celebrate the life and ministry of our church with great food and great music. Whether you were there to bid or to dance, to talk or to eat, it would have difficult to have had a bad time.

Sermon for Ash Wednesday by Susan N. Eaves, February17, 2010
One of the great joys and wonders of being a priest is the privilege of walking alongside human beings living life as it comes: Life with all its complexities, confusion, and wonder: Life with all its joys and tribulations. Lives full of mistakes and sin, but life reaching out to mean something, to have significance, to have mattered. As human beings we want our lives to mean something, to be cared about, to have value and very often we will look to a life of faith to support our search and our hope.
