David McCormick began serving as Director of Music on September 30, 2007. He was already known to many as a long time resident of the north side. He had a long tenure as the organist and choirmaster at Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, as well as being the founder and then director of the Neighborhood School for the Arts. In addition, his background includes holding a bachelor's and master's degree from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, N.J. and an S.M.D. from the School of Sacred Music, Union Theological Seminary in New York.
David is an experienced church musician having held positions in Presbyterian and Episcopal churches as well as serving as Associate Professor of Church Music at the Presbyterian School of Christian Education. Among many other projects, he was part of the team that established the Leadership Program for Music in Small Churches (an Episcopal/Lutheran endeavor which has been of great support to musicians working in non-corporate sized parishes.) He is also director of City Singers community children's choir.
