Our Mission & Vision

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ, for we are one of the houses of God and some of the people of God, sharing this mission with the entire Church. Our vision is to be a church community that responds to God by thought and by deeds, for it is in such response that we experience ourselves in authentic relationship with God and with each other as members of the Body of Christ.

Our Prayer

O Christ, you have sought us. May we seek you, in this time and place, expressing your eternal love through …
— welcoming and dynamic worship,in which together we lift up our hearts and minds to God, asking nothing but to enjoy his presence and the grace to extend his peace to each other and all visitors;
— Christian education and programs for the entire community, in which together we minister to each other’s spiritual needs, providing a basis for continued spiritual growth for everyone—of all ages, backgrounds, and needs;
— outreach ministries that proclaim your message of justice, peace, and love, in which together we address hunger, sickness, loneliness, and neglect in our neighborhood and city;
— participation in our mutual life, in which together we care for our parish—its people, traditions, and physical structures—and give generously of the gifts that God has granted us, individually and collectively. O Christ, we offer to you this vision of the ministry of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church. Guide us, that we may pursue it diligently and well.

Amen.
