I would love to see the church continue the work the children have started this week in Vacation Bible School! Learning the stories of heroes in the Bible and being heroes themselves by raising money to help children in the Sudan. Absolutely beautiful!

I couldn't agree more. It was especially good to see the children being joined by children from the Peter Paul Development Center. Upward and onward. What other ideas are out there?

I think teaching kids to help others around the world is VERY important. Sounds like VBS was a great time. I have the kids in my class bring in their own money and we do microlending through KIVA. Here is their web site

WE could do this in Sunday school classes, youth group or even as a congregation. The repayment rate is %100. It usually takes about 6 months to get paid back but then we reinvest the money in another loan to someone in another country. Great economics lessons as well.
