Opportunities for Service and Ministry in Faith Formation
Listed below are opportunities for service in faith formation and education at St. Thomas. Everyone is invited to find a place to serve. Training is provided for the ministries requiring specialized skills. If you are called to participate in any of these activities, please contact the person listed or the parish office.
Coffee and Conversation: attend the Sunday morning adult Christian education program which offers faith development opportunities for adults.
Confirmation Classes: for youth and adults, explore the beliefs, practice and history of the Episcopal church as well as what it means to be confirmed.
Faith And Fellowship: attend the weekday Christian education program for adults focusing upon the Christian life, theology, church history, Bible study and faith in practice. For newcomers and parishioners wishing to renew their spiritual life.
Faith Formation Committee: facilitate the Faith Formation ministries at St. Thomas ’.
Episcopal Church Women (ECW): meet for service, study, and fellowship.
Education For Ministry (EFM) COURSE: an in-depth weekly course focusing on how “to be” Christians and minister. Involves Old and New Testament studies, church history and theology. Offered at St. Thomas’ for all Region 11 churches.
Nursery: provide safe and loving care for the youngest children of our church. Nursery workers (adult) and nursery aides (grade 5 and above).
Sunday School Teachers: With a co-teacher, teach the regular youth or children's Sunday School class. There are also opportunities to serve in Rotation Sunday School during Advent and Lent. Vacation Bible School: help provide a week of study, worship, and fellowship for children in our church and neighborhood.
Young Adults Group: meet monthly in each others' homes for food, discussion, and fellowship. Members of the group take turns leading an informal discussion about issues relevant to our lives today.
Young Mothers Study Group: meet once a week on a weekday morning for study, prayer, and fellowship.Youth Ministry: support the program and chaperone events. The Youth Ministry is built upon the four areas of study, worship, service, and fellowship.
