June Hardy Dorsey, Assistant Rector

June Hardy Dorsey is one of the Assistant Rectors, coordinating Faith Formation, Parish programs and volunteers. An ordained Baptist minister turned Episcopalian, June feels called by God to integrate faith development into the whole life of the parish. She was initially drawn to St. Thomas’ Church because of its community involvement. Her particular area of interest is in the “education of the heart” as well as the mind and helping children, youth and adults develop as intelligent, caring, believing and generous people. She is married to David Hardy Dorsey who is the Head of School for Seven Hills Middle School for Boys. They have one son, Jake, who is a student at Appamattox Regional Governors School.  June has been involved in curriculum development and design for much of her professional career. She spent the first eighteen years of her life in Japan before coming to the US for university studies. She has a BA in Education with an Early Childhood Emphasis, and an MDiv in Theology. She was ordained to the transitional diaconate in June 2011.
