Music has always been an integral part of worship at St. Thomas’. A variety of musical styles are represented so as to appeal to the widest range of musical tastes possible. The music program seeks to be inclusive by encouraging people with a variety of levels of proficiency, from within and outside the St. Thomas’ community, to participate. Adult Choir: is open to anyone ages 16 and up.New choir members are always welcome, regardless of of voice type or level of experience. No prior experience is required. Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Anthems representing a variety of musical styles are presented on Sunday mornings and special services. The choir is an important part of worship and plays a leadership role in congregational singing.
Handbell Choir: Individuals from high school and up are encouraged to join St. Thomas’ Handbell Choir to prepare music for Sunday services and other special services during the year. No prior experience playing handbells is required. Contact Fay Eure, Handbell Director, for more information.
Children’s Choir: All children in grades 2–5 are invited to join the children’s choir for a fun time of singing together.
Instrumentalists: Instrumentalists (wind, brass, string, percussion, and organ and piano), beginning through advanced level, are always being sought to share their talent for various worship services, either as soloists, or hymn and choir accompanists.
Vocal Soloists: Opportunities exist for those possessing minimal vocal proficiency to present vocal solos for services and to lead the congregation in the singing of the Psalter. Individuals from outside the St. Thomas’ congregation are invited to participate.
