Fellowship and Music, Food and Prayer at Advent

Advent is underway.

Our Parish Supper and Sung Compline proved to be a wonderful evening of warm and welcoming, low key fellowship and easily accessible, community enriching worship. There was something for everyone and a real sense of holy space for thought and sharing. It is a special gift for a community to sing together with great simplicity.

One parishioner noted she was also "grateful for the Advent book table.  D ... (her son) had announced matter of factly on the way to church , that his teacher at had told them that when boys die they become boy angels and when girls die they become girl angels.  I offered that there are different ways to talk about our soul or spirit, the part of us that never dies. D...  replied, "My teacher says we get to be angels when we die, so that is what happens".  I am looking forward to more assistance from the book, 'Real Kids, Real Faith' ".

Another parishioner described our time as "lovely." "Lovely is the word that comes to mind when we have entered that space where God becomes present. The silence at the end of our time together was a gentle and joyful moment of lingering before we went our separate ways.

Thanks be to God...I enjoyed it.
